Arunachal: CM Pema Khandu announces feasibility study for Anini Advanced Landing Ground

Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced that a detailed feasibility study will be conducted for the development of Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) at Anini.Reaffirming the State Government’s resolve to take governance to the remotest corners of Arunachal Pradesh, Khandu announced a series of major development initiatives for the Dibang Valley region alone, following the Aapke Dwar Cabinet meeting held in Anini.

“A detailed feasibility study for the development of the Advanced Landing Site (ALG) at Anini will be carried out by an expert team to assess technical and operational feasibility, taking into account the strategic location and connectivity requirements of the area,” he said.
The Cabinet Aapke Dwar initiative aims to bring the government to the doorstep of the people by holding Cabinet meetings outside the State Capital, interacting directly with local communities and district administrations, understanding region-specific challenges and ensuring rapid decision-making and on-the-spot interventions, especially in remote and border areas.

As part of this outreach, the Prime Minister announced various infrastructure, education, connectivity, power and livelihood-related projects tailored to the needs of Dibang Valley.


To meet the long-standing need for a common public facility, the Prime Minister announced the construction of a Community Hall in Anini, Rekho, which will serve as a multi-purpose venue for official functions, public meetings, cultural programs and social events in the district headquarters.
In recognition of the strategic and developmental importance of road connectivity, approval was announced for the construction of a 15-kilometer road from NH-313 (Amuli Village) to Anini-Dambuen BRO road to Aliney at an estimated cost of Rs 15 billion. The road will significantly reduce travel time, improve civilian movement in the Dri Valley and strengthen strategic connectivity to the last motorable point in Bruni. In a bid to strengthen technical administration and improve monitoring of development work, the Chief Minister announced the construction of an office building and residential accommodation for Executive Engineer PWD, Anini. The facility will increase site inspection and accelerate project implementation in the region.

Taking advantage of the region’s unique ecological and climatic advantages, the Prime Minister announced the establishment of the High Altitude Medicinal Plant Research Center in Dibang Valley to promote conservation, scientific research and sustainable use of medicinal plants indigenous to the Mishmi Hills. A feasibility study will be conducted and presented within three months.

The Prime Minister announced the installation of solar street lights in Anini district, which provides a sustainable lighting solution considering limited power availability and frequent load shedding.
