Coleen Rooney hits the beach in Barbados but it’s her eldest son Kai, 16, who steals the show as he races Wayne’s Man United pal

Coleen Rooney hit the beach in Barbados with her family this New Year’s Eve and they swapped the cold weather for Caribbean sunshine.

The 39-year-old WAG showed off her figure in a leopard-print bikini and beige lace cover-up.

It wasn’t the first time Coleen was the center of attention as her eldest son Kai, 16, stole the show, adding a pair of pops of color to her beach look.

The footballer, who now plays for Manchester United’s Under-18 team, showed off his athleticism as he competed with his father Wayne’s former Manchester United team-mate Jonny Evans.

Running along the beach in their swimsuits, the couple appeared to be doing their best as they grimaced with their efforts.

Wayne and Coleen were joined by their other sons, Klay, 11, Kit, 8, and Cass, 6, as well as Coleen’s brother and parents, Colette and Tony.

But Coleen wasn’t the center of attention as her eldest son Kai, 16, stole the show as he raced along the beach with Jonny Evans.

There were retirees among them. football players and Wayne’s former teammates Jonny, Michael Carrick and Darren Gibson.

Kai was also seen chatting with friends while styling her beach look with black shades and a silver chain.

Wayne was seen having fun with his friends while sipping on a cocktail in a casual look, wearing a white t-shirt, gray baseball cap and sunglasses.

Kai recently scored his first goal for Manchester United in his return from injury after months on the sidelines. He was injured while on crutches and his right foot was in a protective boot.

In September, she shared a photo of her situation on Instagram with the caption: ‘Life couldn’t get any worse.’

Shortly after, he shared a photo of himself wearing United training gear and boots, adding two hourglass emojis to indicate he was nearing a return to full fitness.

However, this apparently did not happen and he had to wait until mid-December to return to action.

Earlier this season, when he was 15, he received a surprise call-up to the club’s Under-19 squad and his progress was halted.

Jonny appeared to be stopping Kai from starting the race and starting the race quickly.

And just weeks later, he scored his first goal for the Under-18s against Middlesbrough, curling a left-footed volley into the top corner.

Kai joined United’s academy in 2020 as an 11-year-old and has progressed steadily through the youth ranks.

Earlier this month Coleen looked radiant as she treated her family to a ‘magical’ feast in LaplandUK.

Sharing a series of heartwarming snaps from the seasonal day out, Coleen could be seen smiling alongside her loved ones as they posed in front of a variety of cozy backdrops inside a wooden cabin.

She was joined by her mother Colette, sisters-in-law Carley Smith and Amy Wilkinson, as well as her children.

Captioning the post, Coleen wrote: ‘Our favorite spot this time of year… so magical and even more beautiful it’s now @laplanduk on our doorstep.

Coleen and husband Wayne have reportedly spent tens of thousands of pounds on Christmas lights at their £20,000,000 Cheshire mansion.

The 40-year-old former Manchester United player and I’m A Celebrity star moved into the mansion three-and-a-half years ago.

The spacious home is located on the area’s famous Golden Triangle estate, which includes some of the region’s smartest postcodes and has been home to numerous footballers, TV icons and musicians.

And the sprawling property is now ready for Christmas, with the couple turning to professional help to deck it out with bright festive lights.

Photos taken from the house show Christmas lights covering the mansion’s roof and porch, as well as images covering wreaths, trees and fences.

The lights are said to be so bright that they can even be seen from planes approaching Manchester Airport.

The Rooneys’ home, High Lake Manor, has a billiards room, home theater, underground spa, wine cellar, stable area for 14 horses and a football field.

The Rooneys’ representatives have been approached for comment.
