As Harry and Meghan lose another key aide, is working for them hell? | Royal | News

Not since the Titanic have so many people escaped from a sinking ship, except the ‘ship’ in question was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Just a few days ago, we reported that 11 key aides and journalists left in the five years after the Sussexes moved to the US, while some lasted just three months. A bloodshed that would impress even the Borgias.

The big bombshell came on Monday; We had number 12 and that was very important. The highly respected James Holt had been with Harry and Meghan since 2019, moving from communications to running the Archewell charity. The now-famous couple and former working royals have lost six advertisers in 2025 alone! What triggered this catastrophic mess?

And let me just say, it’s a PR disaster because aside from parting ways with some of the so-called brightest and best in the industry, this whole mess is nothing but a terrible facade.

It’s like a floundering Premier League club panicking and axing its manager, then cutting the new incumbent as results continue to be poor. It’s a doomsday spiral.

Pax Romana. In ancient Rome, the continuity of emperors coincided with their most successful 200 years of peace and prosperity. The empire slowly turned to dust as they began to cut and replace each year as fewer men vied for absolute power.

The reason for the Sussexes’ constant change is unclear; They may be strict task managers, workaholics, or have rigid standards. These aren’t necessarily bad things.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, after all, but they can be impatient to do good.

However, even famous ‘megalomaniacs’ such as Howard Hughes and Walt Disney had important and reliable employees whom they knew they could not do without.

But frankly, I fear the alternative could be depressingly simple – what if Harry and Meghan are slightly clueless, tone-deaf, and working for them is just a good, old-fashioned nightmare?

The Sussexes have been forced to deny repeated allegations of bullying on both sides of the Atlantic for years; A former staff member claimed she was subjected to “emotional cruelty and manipulation”.

Relieved as the number of complaints grew, former staff even dubbed themselves the ‘Sussex Survivors Club’.

In response, the Duchess of Sussex, through her special communications officer for the day, branded the whole thing a “calculated smear campaign”.

But Gen Z and Millennials who sincerely believe in their unwavering social views – what I call ‘awakened narcissism’ – are finding it a surprising, bitter pill to swallow, with bitter criticism of the ‘goodness’ they preach.

If exposing how demanding or outdated royal life can be (a monarchy has traditions? No way!) results in them receiving a public shout-out for making £22 million from the book, then their ‘message of love’ must have been mishandled. Therefore, “Fire the Servant!”

Communications Director Kyle Boulia was among six staff members culled in June in anger after Prince Harry attacked King Charles in a BBC interview and complained about being ‘in stitches’ for losing a legal battle for taxpayer-funded police protection in the UK.

The interview reportedly enraged Palace and Government officials. But it is much easier to blame someone else instead of stepping back or apologizing.

And when it comes to shifting blame, the Sussexes are second to none.

They are the luxury ocean liner that ‘passes the buck’ and they will continue to go from one PR to the next…like an iceberg on a major shipping line.
