Punjab Kings Retention List: Maxwell, Hardie, Inglis, Kuldeep Sen and Vishnu Vinod released ahead of IPL mini-auction

Punjab Kings have released Australian all-rounders Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Hardie and wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis ahead of the IPL mini-auction next month. The Preity Zinta-owned team also let go of Indian homegrown players Kuldeep Sen and Vishnu Vinod.

Maxwell had a disappointing IPL season, appearing in just seven matches and taking just 48 runs while taking four wickets while a finger injury ruled him out of the tournament. He was later replaced by Australian Mitchell Owen.

Hardie, who was signed for Rs 1.25 crore, did not feature in any match of the series and according to an IPL source, is among the names announced ahead of the auction to be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
Inglis, who was bought for Rs 2.60 crore as a replacement for the injured Marcus Stoinis in the 2025 mega auction, made his Punjab Kings debut this season against KKR. In 11 IPL matches, he scored 278 runs at an average of 30.89 and a strike rate of 162.57.

Right-arm pacer Kuldeep Sen and wicketkeeper-batsman Vishnu Vinod, both of whom were part of the PBKS squad that finished runners-up after losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, did not play a single match in the 2025 season. Sen, who signed a contract for 80 lakhs, failed to break into the first 11, while Vinod, who joined the team last season, last appeared in the IPL with Mumbai Indians in 2023.

All other players on the team were retained by PPKS.
