Assembly Adopts Resolution for Viksit Bharat–Swarnandhra 2047

: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution committing the state to the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Viksit Bharat and charting an ambitious roadmap to transform AP into a robust economic powerhouse by 2047.

Introducing the resolution, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government will align its policies with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant and developed India. He emphasized that AP will seek to strengthen India’s economic, social and cultural fabric while contributing to the larger national objective of making India a leading economy by 2047.

The resolution stated that the alliance government in the state aims to position AP at the forefront of inter-sectoral development in line with the Viksit Bharat-2047 mission. As part of this long-term vision, the government has set a target of turning the state into a Rs 308 lakh crore economy by the time India celebrates its Independence Century, he said.

Naidu told the meeting that the government is committed to achieving sustainable economic progress through development of local industries, increasing per capita income and maintaining stable annual growth rate of 15 per cent.

Terming it a “historic moment”, the chief minister urged the assembly members to collectively take “Viksit Bharat-Swarnandhra 2047 Sankalp Pratigya” to support the goals of the central and state governments.

Underlining the state’s strategy to strengthen its manufacturing base, the resolution proposed a two-phase approach built around the “Vocal for Local” and “Local to Global” initiatives.

The initial phase will focus on increasing local production and creating strong brand identities for products manufactured in the state. In the second stage, these products will be brought to world standards and placed in a position to compete in international markets.

The government also emphasized the need to promote the principle of “Every Home for Swadeshi” by encouraging citizens to prioritize locally produced products.

The resolution underlined full support to MSMEs, artisans, traditional craftsmen, farmers, loom workers and young entrepreneurs to strengthen the grassroots economy.

He also called for greater promotion of historical sites, tourist attractions and pilgrimage centers in the state, stating that such efforts would help preserve AP’s cultural heritage while strengthening economic self-reliance.

The Assembly observed that the collective commitment of the elected representatives towards the development of the state would ultimately contribute to the progress of India.
