Assembly elections 2026 LIVE: Assam CM Himanta, other key candidates to file nominations on March 20

‘I don’t see much possibility of change at the moment’: Congress MP rules out revision of Kerala candidate list

Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan observed on Friday, March 20, 2026, that the list of candidates for the Kerala Assembly elections is unlikely to undergo any changes at this stage.

The senior leader noted that any revision would now require a new and lengthy consultation process as the State leadership had already returned to their respective constituencies to start campaigning.

Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan told reporters, “The Opposition Leader and KPCC president have already returned to Kerala and started constituency tours and campaign activities. Naturally, if any changes are to be made in the list finalized by the Central Election Committee, it requires a detailed process. Leaders in Kerala need to be consulted again or their consent is required. Considering my long experience in politics, I do not find such changes very likely.” “At this stage, of course, politics is the art of possibilities, so anything can happen, but I do not expect any major developments right now.”
