Sebby’s Scrolls, St Kilda – The Age Good Food app listing
Sebby’s second outpost is in the former Black Star Bakery site on Acland Street.
Following the success of its Caulfield South flagship, Sebby’s has opened a new store on Acland Street in the space previously occupied by Black Star Pastry. Like the original, the new digs are all about doing one thing well: scrolls (especially the cinnamon variety).
What sets them apart is Saigon cinnamon, which has a sharper flavor than the more common Dutch or Sri Lankan varieties. It’s balanced with a generous dollop of cream cheese sauce or a dairy-free alternative, making it one of the few vegan-friendly slides (check out Mister Nice Guys in Ascot Vale for another solid vegan option).
Savory flavors include cheese and vegemite, while monthly specials spin on the classic—like a spicy carrot cake spin on a classic or a cheese pizza scroll.
