At least 10 patients killed in fire at Indian hospital

At least 10 people died in a fire that broke out in the trauma care unit of a hospital in the eastern Indian state of Odisha.
Five people were seriously injured, but it is unclear whether this was due to the fire or previous injuries.
The fire was probably caused by a short circuit in the trauma center early on Monday, Prime Minister Mohan Charan Majhi told reporters after visiting the hospital.
While at least 23 patients were being treated in intensive care, 10 of them died while being transferred to a safer area from the fire.
“Medical personnel and security personnel risked their lives to save patients; in the process, they were also injured and they are also receiving treatment,” Majhi said. he said.
He said an investigation would be launched into the fatal fire.
