Three students injured as Bengaluru government school window lintel collapses

On August 25, three students were seriously injured after the collapse of a window in Kotote, Devanahalli town Kotote, Kotote, Government Boys High Primary School.

A student’s left leg was broken. One of the three wounded students was accepted at Hosmat Hospital, while the other shifted to Victoria Hospital for more treatment. A student accepted in the bowring hospital was discharged.

School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa visited the wounded students in hospitals on 26 August.

Parents made sure that all medical expenses would be fully met by the Ministry of Education and Literacy (DSEL). Authorities directed the health of the students to watch everyday.

The Minister instructed the authorities from the Ministry of Public Works (PWD) to make a comprehensive examination of the school building and provide a detailed report.

BENGALUURU Rural Zilla Panchayat Commissioner (DC) and the Chairman of the Executive Board (CEO), including the Senior Regional Regional Officials visited the school and published the necessary instructions.

Madhu Bangarapp, “Children’s safety is our priority. The government will provide appropriate maintenance, medical support and strict action to prevent such events in the future,” he said.

Complaint against Bel

The school principal filed a complaint against Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), who built the building within the scope of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

“The building of this school was built by BEL in 2015 through CSR funds. It is not a very old building. However, three students were injured when a window collapsed due to weak construction works. Therefore, the school principal filed a complaint against the Bes.
