Aussie airlines offer chance to boost frequent flyer perks with new promotions

Rival Australian airlines have dropped major promotions to boost frequent flyer benefits for travelers.
Qantas is offering its frequent flyer members the chance to double their rewards with its latest Twice as Rewarding deal.
Qantas Frequent Flyer Members who book regional, domestic or international flights can earn double status credits or double Qantas points for the next seven days.
Members can also earn double points on Qantas hotel and holiday bookings when planning their next holiday until 2 March.
The Twice as Rewarding promotion saw a frequent flyer book 115 flights and earn enough bonus status credits to turn their bronze membership into platinum.
Frequent Flyers can sign up to the Qantas app and book as many flights as they want to travel between 3 March and 12 February next year.
Qantas loyalty CEO Andrew Glance said they always see a huge influx in bookings as soon as these offers go live.
“Members know this is one of the fastest ways to unlock a higher status tier and key travel benefits like lounge access, increased legroom and luggage allowance,” he said.

“For those chasing double points, this offer brings members that much closer to their next reward, whether it’s a flight, an upgrade, an all-inclusive package with TripADeal or a shopping spree with a retail partner like David Jones.”
The day before, Virgin announced its largest status credit offer in history, with up to 125 bonus status credits on past and future bookings.
The offer is valid for all fare types for Velocity Frequent Flyer members, giving them the chance to move up status tiers and unlock a world of travel privileges.
“This is a great opportunity for our members to accelerate their status,” said Nick Rohrlach, CEO of Velocity Frequent Flyer.
Fares start from $109 one way.
