Bill Maher takes swipe at Michelle Obama over woman president comments

“Real Time” host Bill Maher slammed former First Lady Michelle Obama for insisting America wasn’t ready for a female president, saying Obama was “shocked.”
“To me, this is logical fallacy No. 101,” Maher said during a panel discussion Friday.
Obama made headlines at the beginning of this month with his statement that “we are not ready” for a female president, following the defeat of then-Vice President Kamala Harris against President Donald Trump in the 2024 elections.
“So don’t even look at me about running, because you’re all lying. You’re not ready for a woman. You’re not ready,” Obama said. “You know, we have a lot of growing to do, and unfortunately there are still a lot of men who don’t think they can be led by a woman, and that’s what we’ve seen.”

The liberal HBO host took exception.
“Just because we’re ‘not ready’ or don’t like candidates Hillary and Kamala, maybe that doesn’t mean we’re not ready for a woman,” Maher said.

Maher went on to dismantle his “bad attitude.”
“I mean, we said we were ready for a black president and someone — I don’t remember who. Maybe he remembers,” he joked. “So maybe it should be the right thing“
Former DNC chair Donna Brazile agreed with Maher, citing the tens of millions of people who voted for Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris and polls that say 80% of Americans would support a female president.
“So the idea that America is not ready is nonsense,” Brazile said.
