Australia beat India by six wickets in women’s opening ODI
“It was pretty emphatic at the end,” Mooney said.
“I was disappointed to come out with 12 runs and send someone else out to field but that’s the kind of (aggressive) style of cricket we want to play going forward.”
Australia’s bowlers shined to restrict India after the hosts were dealt injury blows before their team could be determined.
Stars Ellyse Perry and Kim Garth were left out of the series before India won the toss and were elected to bat. Both suffered quad strains in the T20 defeat against India on Saturday.
Fast bowler Megan Schutt, who was not originally in the squad, was called up and took a wicket with the second ball of the inning when she trapped Pratika Rawal ahead for a duck.

At the other end, Darcie Brown took an athletic catch and bowl to dismiss Shafali Verma (four) and put the visitors on their feet early.
The spins of Ashleigh Gardner, Alana King and Sophie Molineux kept up the pressure, with the trio claiming wickets in the middle to keep the run rate down.
Gardner (3-33) had the best figures but all seven bowlers Australia used did their job.
Medium-pacer Tahlia McGrath claimed the crucial scalp with a harmless leg-side delivery to deep fine leg off in-form opener Smriti Mandhana (58 off 68 deliveries).
India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (53) and big-hitting all-rounder Kashvee Gautam (43) saved what appeared to be a tough shot.
Georgia Voll’s fielding performance, who took three catches, was notable, especially her superb diving effort to dismiss the skipper.

Gardner wrapped up the India innings in the 49th over and his masterful flick to the stumps edged the dangerous Gautam.
Gautam added that India did not score enough runs but they were not a bad side just because of a single defeat.
The next match of the series is in Hobart on Friday.
“We can go back,” Gautam said.
Earlier, Cricket Australia had made a statement about the possible return of Perry and Garth ahead of the one-off Test at the end of the ODI series.
“Their fitness for the Test match will be further assessed at the end of the ODI series depending on how they progress in rehabilitation,” the statement said.
