Australia into semi-finals after thrashing Bangladesh

They did not slow down; In his first half century in this tournament, Healy reached 50 from 43 balls, while Litchfield reached this number from 46 balls.

Healy’s second 50 took another eight fours off just 30 deliveries. He made 100 from 73 balls in a second consecutive game.

It was the second fastest century in the tournament’s history. Healy has scored back-to-back hundreds at a World Cup for the second time since 2022. He has four hundreds in the Cricket World Cup, one behind England’s Nat Sciver Brunt.

Healy and Litchfield gave the Bangladesh bowlers no chance as they racked up their first 100 runs from 83 balls and made 150 off 125 balls.

The partnership ultimately became Australia’s third-highest for any wicket in the Women’s Cricket World Cups.

The chase was also the second highest non-wicket chase in women’s ODIs and the highest in the history of the tournament, which the seven-time champions won with 25.1 overs to spare.

Bangladesh chose to bat and made a calm start. Opener Rubya Haider continued her lead with 44 off 59 balls, including 8 fours.

Led by King, the Australian spinners continued to trip up the Tigers. King stunned captain Nigar Sultana in the 12th over and sent back in-form Shorna Akter in the 7th over.

Sobhana Mostary hit his second half-century of the tournament to put Bangladesh ahead with a score of 127-5 in the 35th over. He completed 66 off 80 balls with nine fours, but none of the last six batsmen could reach double figures as Bangladesh fell well short of the average score.

Spinners Ashleigh Gardner (2-48) and Georgia Wareham (2-22) also collected braces.

Australia will play England in Indore next Wednesday. Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka in Navi Mumbai on Monday.
