Australia is constantly shocked and/or stunned

It’s amazing how Australians can do anything. Judging by the headlines, the nation is in a constant state of shock. And as he completes the hard work of recovering from this shock, he is suddenly stunned.

The proliferation of events that can shock or stun is part of the fascinating dialect spoken only by journalists. Just as no one other than a newspaper has ever caused an “outrage” or made a “blunder” or “meddled” with anything, let alone a “confusion”, we are not sure that the following events will create the level of confusion and consternation that the publications would believe.
