Albanese will meet his Singaporean counterpart for the annual leaders’ meeting and will hold a joint press conference this afternoon after Albanese tours oil refining facilities on Jurong Island.
Albanese, who arrived in Singapore last night, said the two countries are important partners, with Singapore providing about a quarter of Australia’s refined fuels and Australia providing about a third of Singapore’s LNG.

It is unclear whether Albanese’s meeting will lead to direct new fuel supplies to Australia, but Albanese said the meeting was important to strengthen the bilateral relationship.

Search for missing fisherman stopped

The search for a fisherman missing in the waters off Coffs Harbor has been suspended, police said last night.
Emergency services were called to Emerald Beach in Coffs Harbor on Monday following reports that a 32-year-old man had crashed into rocks while fishing.
Coffs Harbor water police, assisted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, carried out an extensive search over the past four days and he was not found and the operation was called off yesterday afternoon.
Water police and other agencies will continue to search the waters off Emerald Beach in the coming days.
