Tropical Cyclone Narelle makes landfall in the Top End as a category 3 system
Tropical cyclone Narelle has crossed the Northern Territory coast, bringing devastating winds of up to 165km per hour and heavy rain, raising the possibility of dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding. Bureau of Meteorology he warned.
Narelle passed around 4 a.m. local time as a severe category 3 system. It is now the 2nd category.
A warning is in place for communities between Milingimbi and the Nathan River, extending westwards towards the Top End and including the Katherine, Bachelor, Adelaide River and Daly River.
A senior meteorologist from BoM said, How is Jonathan?in question:
We will see 24-hour rainfall totals between 180 and 180 in this severe weather warning area. [and] 230 millimeters and some isolated places could see more than 300 mm, particularly north of Katherine, which could cause dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding.
