Australia v England day 1 scores, results, wickets, teams, time, schedule, how to watch
One morning, every morning,
Welcome to our first Ash Test coverage in Perth – things are getting a bit busy out west.
At least it’s the Ashes story we never knew we needed; Steve Smith plans an elaborate, choreographed alpha-ing of Monty Panesar. More on this later.

But for now, Australia and England finally kick off one of the most anticipated Test series of this century. We have debutants Jake Weatherald and Brendan Doggett. We have Bazball. We have the Barmy Army.
Tom Decent, Daniel Brettig and Andrew Wu are on the field. We get the first ball at approximately 13:20 AEDT and the toss is about 20 minutes before that.
No more gilding the lilies, no more farewells, just 90 minutes left until the first ball of the Test summer, one of the most beautiful sights on this green earth.
Stunning.
