Keir Starmer asks students not to join protests on 7 October

PA MediaPrime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, the second anniversary of the Israeli attack of Hamas on October 7, called “rising antisemitism on our streets” warning to the pro -Palestinian protests on Tuesday.
Sir Keir, some of them “a vile excuse to attack the British Jews,” he said.
Britain has increased security to protect Jewish communities after a deadly attack on a synagogue in Manchester last week.
Universities in some parts of the UK are preparing for demonstrations on Tuesday and students from London colleges are planning a joint march in the capital.
Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol are among other cities waiting for student protests.
“Time does not reduce the evil we see that day,” Sir Keir wrote times Tuesday’s pressure of the newspaper.
“Today, on the anniversary of the atrocities on October 7, students are once again planning protest.
“This is not who we are as a country. In English to respect others very little. And this, some of them before deciding to hate them over and over again.”
Sir Keir stressed that “always long and unite” against those who want to harm the Jewish communities of England.
“Our Jewish communities also endured anti -Semitism rising on our streets in our country.”
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch warned against the “so -called ‘protests” that turned into hate walks on our streets.
“We must be honest two years after the terrible massacre on October 7: Today, the same hatred that still fuel the festivals.”
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick described Tuesday’s scheduled protests as “shame”.
Andy Burnham, the Mayor of the Great Manchester workers, called on Thursday to provide more money for policing in the region after the attack on the synagogue.
The Great Manchester police said that the police were “under constant pressure”, and that the government should consider the financing of power to continue to provide the “assurance of all communities”.
“We encounter similar pressures to meet the greatest Jewish community outside London, but we do not receive the same extraordinary financing to deal with these additional pressures,” ITV said: ”
On Saturday, Approximately 500 people were arrested in the center of London during the protests that support the groups that prohibited Palestinian actionMetropolitan police reported.
Following the synagogue attack, the demonstrations continued despite the satisfaction of the ministers who wanted the protests to be postponed.
Sir Keir’s government recognized the Palestinian state last month because of the pressure of ending the war in Gaza.
The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack on Hamas on 7 October 2023 against Southern Israel, and about 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were hostage.
Since then, 67,139 people have been killed by Israeli military operations in Gaza.
