Donald Trump said Iran has agreed to suspend its nuclear program and an agreement to end the war with the Islamic regime could be reached in the coming days.
Trump claimed that Tehran had agreed to suspend its entire nuclear program indefinitely, stating that the pause would last for ‘unlimited’ years. He also stated that the United States would not release any of Iran’s frozen funds in exchange for the suspension.
Tehran has yet to confirm any of Trump’s claims about the alleged concessions.
The President also announced that the deal with Iran is nearing completion and that talks will “probably” take place this weekend, according to Bloomberg.
‘Most of the main points are clear. “It’s going to move pretty quickly,” Trump said.
Trump stated that he has not yet decided who will lead the US delegation that will hold talks with Iranian officials to sign the agreement. He later added that he might travel to Pakistan for the final round of talks.
Suspending Iran’s nuclear program and seizing its remaining enriched uranium stockpiles is one of the administration’s main goals as it seeks to end the war.
‘Iranians want to meet. They want to make a deal. I think there will probably be a meeting over the weekend. “I think we’ll reach an agreement in the next day or two,” Trump told Axios.

The regime agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil chokepoint currently under US blockade, and allow ships to pass safely.
Iran had previously insisted that the strait would be fully reopened if Israel agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon, where Tehran-backed Hezbollah is active. On Thursday, Trump declared a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon after a phone call with Benjamin Netanyahu.
After the failure of peace talks with the Islamic regime in Pakistan last weekend, the President imposed a naval blockade of the Bosphorus.
Since the start of the war, Iran has deployed explosive suicide boats, drones and mines, halting almost all commercial shipping on the transit route.
According to Axios, negotiations between the US and Iran have accelerated in recent days; Washington considered Tehran’s offer to release nearly $20 billion in frozen Iranian funds in exchange for handing over its enriched uranium stockpile.
Trump denied that the US would pay Iran for its uranium stockpile, saying: ‘No money will change hands in any way, shape or form.’
The president also stated that the current peace agreement ‘will not be tied to Lebanon in any way, but the United States will work with Lebanon separately and deal with the Hezbollah situation as appropriate.’
‘Israel will no longer bomb Lebanon. They are prohibited from doing so by the United States. Enough is enough!!!
