A 17yo boy has been charged with murder after two men stabbed at Salamanca Place

A teenager has been charged with murder after an argument between two groups in a popular area of Hobart resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man.
Emergency services were called to the Morrison St car park in Salamanca Place at around 11.45pm on Saturday night after two men were allegedly stabbed.
The 20-year-old young man who was injured died at the scene.
Another man, a 23-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Tasmanian Police on Monday charged a 17-year-old boy with murder, wounding and assault. Police on Sunday charged a 20-year-old man with assault.
The 17-year-old will appear in the Youth Justice Court on Tuesday.
Detective Acting Inspector Rick Newman described the alleged incident as “devastating” and said it “should never have happened”.
“Everyone has the right to be safe in our public spaces and violent crime will not be tolerated in our communities,” Superintendent Newman said in a statement on Sunday afternoon. he said.
“Our thoughts are with the relatives of the young man who lost his life, the young man whose treatment continues in hospital, and his friends who witnessed this tragic event.”
