In 2023, there were 286,998 births, the last existing figures throughout the country. In Australia, 292,152 people were the lowest registered births since 2007, when they were born.

Inga Lass, chief writer of the Melbourne Institute, said that the housing cost postponed couples to have children.

He said that parents looking for a good public school pay an additional premium to secure a house in the right school area, and that the high cost of child care is another factor.

Lass said that the pressure of parents to do the best possible work led to a phenomenon of “intense parenting”.

“This is expected to deposit a very important time, energy and money to the development of their children and prioritize their needs on their own,” he said.

“It is difficult to meet such a high bar, especially with more than one or two children, and at the same time prevent people from deciding to have children in the first place.”

Children are a collapse that has long been accepted as traditional values, depending on the decline in their desire.
