Australian star sprinter stuns with a record-equalling time in the 100 metres

Gout wants to emulate the legendary Usain Bolt at the junior championships in Oregon and Athletics Australia has backed his decision.

Bolt began his career with 200 meters gold at the 2002 World Junior Championships before dominating world sprint racing and rewriting the record books.

Should he triumph in the pet race, Gout could also become the first Australian to win a gold medal in the sprint at the junior world championships.

This would be Gout’s biggest accolade since bursting onto the global athletics scene less than two years ago.
