NFL news: Giants to start Jameis Winston at quarterback in Week 11

There will be more changes for the New York Giants this weekend following the firing of head coach Brian Daboll, according to multiple reports.
The Giants will reportedly start Jameis Winston at quarterback on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. Winston will make his debut with the Big Blue as he serves as the third-string quarterback on the depth chart behind Jaxson Dart and Russell Wilson.

Dart, who suffered a concussion at the end of the third quarter last week against the Chicago Bears, does not appear to be cleared to play in Week 11. Wilson entered the game for the Darts but didn’t do much to inspire coaches to insert him into the offense against the Packers.
With the season winding down and the playoffs looking increasingly distant, New York looks set to give Winston a chance to show what he can do in a Mike Kafka-led offense.

Winston has been almost a journeyman quarterback since leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2019 season. He left the league that year with 5,109 passing yards. But he also led the league with 30 interceptions.
He played in 12 games for the Cleveland Browns last season, appearing in seven of them. He was 2-7 in those starts. He had 2,121 passing yards, 13 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions.
