Knife fight at Colliers Wood Tube station leaves man in hospital

A man has suffered head injuries following an alleged knife fight at Colliers Wood Underground station.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers attended the tube station in south-west London at 10.30am on Wednesday following reports of a knife fight between three young men.

A man in his twenties was later arrested at the police station “on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon”.

He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening or life-altering, according to police.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a stabbing at Colliers Wood Underground station in SW19 at 10.29am today.

“We deployed resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle.

“We treated a man with a head injury and took him to the hospital.”

A TfL spokesman said: “Violence has absolutely no place on our network and we are supporting British Transport Police in their investigation. This must be deeply distressing for everyone at Colliers Wood station and our thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident.”
