“The Bachelor” star Madison Prewett has finally come clean after years of living in “secret sexual sin.”
In Tuesday’s episode “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast” While Prewett presented herself as someone waiting to get married in middle school, she also spoke candidly about the internal struggles she began to face after struggling with pornography use and masturbation in private.
“I was introduced to pornography at a young age, around 13, 14, through a friend of mine. That started a long journey and struggle for me with porn and masturbation. It created a lot of shame and secrecy in my life. I’ve pretty much lived my life in: ‘I’m saving myself for marriage, I’ve got my virgin card, I’m following God,'” Prewett began.

“From the outside, everything seemed fine, but behind closed doors I was living a double life of constantly living in secret sin, secret sexual sin, and not admitting it to anyone, which only led to more sin and more shame, and it felt like it was this never-ending cycle that I didn’t know how to get out of,” she continued.

Prewett told Candice Cameron Bure that he lived his entire middle school and high school years in secret, but was able to open up about the difficulties he experienced after going to college.
“Behind closed doors, I was living a double life of constantly living in secret sin, secret sexual sin, and not admitting it to anyone.”
“I finally managed to break free from this addiction and this cycle. I think a lot of times we think that if we confess our sin or finally tell someone about it, they’re going to judge us, people are going to think we’re disgusting, they’re going to think we’re a bad Christian. If we say that, maybe they don’t want to be my friends anymore,” the 29-year-old admitted.

Prewett shared that confessing her sin allowed her to feel “lighter” and provide immediate relief. To this day, the reality TV alum refuses to let her sin remain a secret and encourages others to “just confess” what they’re struggling with.
“A lot of times when you share that secret sin or that shameful thing — maybe you didn’t do it, maybe it was done to you and it’s been holding you back for too long — and when you finally confess it to someone you realize whether it’s a porn addiction or an abortion or something that someone took advantage of you,” she began.

Prewett continued, “I think that’s often equated with sexuality — not always, but most of the time — and when you admit it right away, you feel this relief and this freedom. That’s really what this journey has been like for me. Even today, when moments of shame resurface, just confess it and bring it to light and share it with a friend.”

“Thankfully, by the grace of God and the strength of the religious community and the people around me, I have been free of porn and masturbation for, I don’t even know what it is, 10 years,” Prewett said at the time.
“But it was something that enslaved and marked me for a long time. … No matter how much I loved Jesus, I couldn’t shake off this sin. I couldn’t shake off porn and masturbation.”
