Badenoch: Trump can consider ‘weakening’ of Iran an ‘achievement’ | News

Kemi Badenoch said Donald Trump could consider “fundamentally weakening Iran” a success of the war, even if it wasn’t his goal.
The Conservative leader said he believed Britain had been “dragged into” the conflict and wanted service personnel to be protected, but said Iran thought “fundamental weakening” had been achieved.
“This may not be the Trump administration’s goal, but Iran’s neighbors have all been reminded of what kind of country Iran is,” he added.
Ms Badenoch’s comments came as Mr Trump threatened to “end our pleasant stay in Iran” by “destroying” Kharg Island and other energy facilities if a deal to end the war was not reached.
