Florida school principals arrested for DUI in same Jeep SUV on video

Two Florida school principals landed in the back of police cars after the Fourth of July night; Body camera video showed both women were arrested on DUI charges in separate incidents tied to the same car.
Body camera video released by authorities shows Jennifer Jimenez, 41, and Christina Alcalde, 45, being detained at separate traffic stops involving the same white Jeep SUV.

“Miss Jennifer, you drank some alcohol today because I can smell it,” the officer is heard saying.
“Yes, it is,” Jimenez replied.

According to a Clermont Police Department probable cause affidavit obtained by Fox News affiliate WOFL-TV, Jimenez was behind the wheel with Alcalde in the passenger seat around 2 a.m. on July 5 when an officer pulled them over after seeing the Jeep swerving in and out of its lane.
Authorities said the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and went over the curb multiple times before stopping. The officer reported smelling alcohol and said Jimenez was “blinking very slowly and giving very slow and delayed reactions.”

Jimenez was arrested on charges of DUI and refusal to submit to a DUI test.
Alcalde, who the police said appeared to be disabled at the first stop, was sent home by carpool while the Jeep was taken to a nearby parking lot instead of being towed.

But around 5 a.m., less than three hours later, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Alcalde might be behind the wheel again.
According to the arrest report, the vehicle drifted in its lane and braked multiple times before the intersection.

Bodycam video shows Alcalde telling the officer he is “much better” and that he is worried about Jimenez, who was arrested earlier.
“I don’t intend to do anything wrong. I’m much better,” the Alcalde told his aide.
“Well, look. I just talked to you,” he replied. “You were really drunk when I talked to you.”
“I know. I know. But I’m not anymore,” he said.
“In a few hours,” the deputy said.
“I understand. I really am not,” said the Alcalde. “I promise you I’m not.”

Alcalde was also arrested on drunken driving-related charges after field sobriety drills, police said.
Both principals were booked into the Lake County Jail on DUI and refusal to appear charges, and bonds were set at $2,000 each.

Alcalde’s place of employment was reportedly identified as Pinecrest Lakes Academy, where he was listed as principal. WESH 2 reports. Jimenez is the principal of Pinecrest Academy Tavares, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
