Ballari Super Speciality Hospital to be inaugurated in December: Sharan Prakash Patil

Minister of Medical Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Sharan Prakash Patil on Wednesday announced that the 450-bed Super Specialty Hospital in Ballari will be opened in December this year.

Speaking after reviewing the ongoing work at the hospital near Sudha Cross, Dr. Patil said the long-delayed project, which was first approved in 2008 and revived in 2018, is now in its final phase.

“About 97% of the first phase and 96% of the second phase have been completed. All pending works, including electrical installations, must be completed by the end of November so that the hospital can be opened to the public in December,” he instructed officials

The Minister said that advanced departments such as cardiology, plastic surgery, neurology and dialysis will become operational soon. He added that a 26-acre cancer hospital is also planned within the same campus, a detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared and approval is awaited.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Patil inaugurated the Incubation and Business Portal Center of Ballari District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BDCCI) and emphasized the need for skill-based education to complement academic learning. He also visited the Government Tool Room and Training Center (GTTC) near Radio Park and inspected its facilities.

During his visit, the Minister was accompanied by Principal Secretary Medical Education Mohammad Mohsin, Director Medical Education Sujata Rathod, Deputy Commissioner Nagendra Prasad K. and Zilla Panchayat CEO Mohammad Haris Sumair. (em)
