Bangladesh: Former PM Sheikh Hasina, Several Others Indicted Over Alleged Irregularities | World News

DAKA: On Thursday, the courts of Bangladesh brought accusations against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, his son Sageeb Joy, Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul and Purbachal under the new Town project under the allegation of corruption. Last month, Bit published a demonstration notification to Hasina, who left the country in August 2024 and disrespect the court case.

Analysts think of developments as a major political blood feud carried out by the Provisional Government ruled by Yunus, as a few lawsuits have been filed for the former Prime Minister and its supporters immediately after their post in August 2024.

Hasina, the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder of Bangladesh, the leading voice in the struggle to restore democracy in the country, had to escape from the country and take refuge in India.
