Bangladesh: Protest Erupts In Dhaka After Hindu Woman Raped By Local Politician; Five Arrested | World News

New Delhi: Students from the University of Dakka, opposition to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) by a local politician in Cumilla’daki 21 -year -old Hindu woman after the rape of justice demanded justice while entering the streets exploded in Dakka on Monday.
According to an Indian Report, Fazor Ali, a 38 -year -old person in the village of Ramchandrapur Pachkitta, was arrested with four other people in connection with the incident. Ali is reported to be a BNP member led by Khalada Zia.
The attack took place on June 26, 2025, when her husband stayed at her father’s house during the local Hari Seva Festival of the victim, whose husband is currently working in Dubai. Around 22.00, Fazor Ali allegedly entered the house after the victim refused to open the door and continued to attack him. India intervened and beat the defendants, but the Today reported that he managed to escape.
Ali was later arrested after a comprehensive human hunting around 5 am on Sunday in Saydabad, Dakka. The police also detained three people who recorded the attack and traveling on the video on social media, which made the people even more angry.
Based on a written complaint filed by Survivor on June 27, a lawsuit was registered within the scope of women and child pressure prevention law. Muradnagar police launched an official investigation against the case.
The incident led to widespread condemnation, especially for social consequences. The protests concentrated due to increasing concerns about the security of minorities in the country. In recent months, especially after the transfer of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, there has been an increase in the targeted violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
The images from the protests showed that Dakka University students chant the slogans and demanded “direct action” against those involved. The protesters wanted to apply rapid justice and laws that protect women and minorities.
The Bangladesh government did not make an official statement that deals with the incident or increasing tensions.
