Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh attends Gaza Peace Summit, reaffirms India’s support for peace plan

According to the official statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forests and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh attended the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit held in Egypt on Monday, October 13.
In the statement, it was stated that the summit was hosted by US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and many world leaders attended.

“India represents peace in the Middle East and resolution of problems through dialogue and diplomacy”. The statement said that India supports President Trump’s Gaza peace plan and appreciates Egypt and Qatar for their valuable roles in achieving it and advancing the path towards peace.
In the statement, it was stated that the summit, held after the release of all remaining hostages and the establishment of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, aimed to strengthen efforts for regional peace and stability in line with President Trump’s vision of permanent peace in the region.
This is also in line with India’s long-standing support for a negotiated two-state solution. The statement confirmed that India will support all efforts towards lasting peace in the region.
Underlining this commitment, Union Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on the sidelines of the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh; This reflects India’s ongoing engagement with key regional partners in advancing common goals of peace and stability.
Mr Singh said the summit underlined the global commitment towards peace and dialogue.
