Pro-Palestine march on Sydney Harbour Bridge to go ahead after NSW Supreme Court ruling

Justice Rigg, the right to freedom of gathering and freedom of expression, on Sunday at 11.30 from the protest to close the bridge, he said.

“The application by the commissioner should be rejected,” he said.

The decision left the NSW police to call hundreds of additional officers to patrol the route.

Protesters will now have the right to occupy the bridges and streets surrounding the planned path from Lang Park to North Sydney near Wynyard. The NSW police caused concerns about the crowded crushing potential near Lang Park and contacted organizers on alternative starting places.

The bridge will be closed in both directions between 11.30 and 16:00 on Sunday. The CBD streets, including the Cahill Motorway on the York Street and Clarence Street, Circular Bay and Western distributor and Grosvenor Street, as well as NSW’s Pacific Highway, Blue Street and Lavender Street, will also be closed.

The trains will still pass the bridge and will be open to drivers with port tunnels. However, the subway will be closed for planned parts work and the bus services on the bridge will end in North Sydney or Wynyard.

NSW, NSW’s transportation, as the situation continues, can be expected to close more roads.

Organizers expect more than 50,000 people to participate in the protest against the Israeli government’s actions in Gaza, including mass allegations of hunger and the destruction of the hospital system.

Josh Lees, the Palestinian Action Group Sydney organizer, said that the symbolism of walking on the bridge would be necessary for the planned march for a “emergency and big response” to the crisis in Gaza.

“This will be a day, Lees Lees said. “I think the people of the world and in our situation, Sydney and NSW people will go down as one of the moments on the right side of history. When the question is asked, one day will come in your life: What did you do to stop the genocidis in Gaza?”

The Israeli government rejected the claims of genocide and hunger in Gaza, claiming that war was a self -defense act.

The NSW police said that the march to the court was not similar and posed a threat to public security in one of the major arteries of the city.

“Now we have to mix it, there’s no doubt,” the commissioner Assistant Peter McKenna said. “The Supreme Court told us to let us let it happen, and we will do it.”

For the first time, the march will take over an authorized protest bridge against the war. In 2000, more than 200,000 people walked over the bridge for domestic reconciliation. In 2023, 50,000 people participated in the Worldpride march for LGBT rights.

Justice Rigg said that Lees accepted the claim that the protest was critical for the purpose of the schedule of the protest, and that it shows the momentum of human screams on the conditions in Gaza as a main reason for its impact.

Palestinian Action Group activist Rachel Evans said that the group would not exclude walking on the bridge again after the Sunday protest.

“The tide is turning, Ev Evans said after the court’s decision. “We need to push and push it forward. We can get it again after taking the port bridge.

“We want all ties to break with Israel.”

The decision is following a one -week political turmoil for the state government after deciding to sign a letter approved by five workers’ deputies Minns.

The letter called on the government to work with the protest organizers to facilitate a safe march and detailed that we knew the ongoing hunger of the Palestinian people in a strong sense ”.

Minns said on Friday, starving Palestinian children shocked the world after the shock of the community in the humanitarian situation in Gaza knew the explosion of anger.

“They want to protest. I accept this,” he said. “The last thing we want and the last thing the police want is chaos on the streets of Sydney.”

Greens Deputy Jenny Leong said that after putting a poster for the “Human Walk” protest of the front gate of the voter office, it was torn apart on Saturday.

“This is a clear attempt for us to withdraw from our loyal support for the Palestinian people,” he said. “He won’t work on us.”

Prime Minister Anthony Arnavutes accused Israel of violating the international law by stopping the delivery of food to a 13 -kilometer -wide strip of food and contained 2.1 million people in an area of half of Canberra.

World Health Organization, last month, including 24 children under five years of age in Gaza, from January to June, a total of 11 deaths of 63 malnutrition, said death.

Operated by Hamas, the Gaza Ministry of Health claims that 82 people have died of malnutrition, including 24 children and 58 adults last month, and died of more than 60,000 killing of more than 700 civilians in Southern Israel by taking Gaza’s death rate from the war.

Albanian also called on Hamas to release Hamas to release the Israeli hostages taken as a part of the attacks on October 7, as Jewish-Avustralya leaders increase the fear that protests would fuel anti-Semitism.

Alex Ryvchin of the Australian Jews, the Jews of Australian Jews, said that the court decision on Saturday was “very terrifying in the community”.

“The Court has allowed a professional protester that cost millions of dollars to paralyze our city,” he said. “We relieve knowing that the majority of the Australians do not want a part of it. We continue to pray for hunger and torture hostages that are ignored by the protesters or whose fate is ignored or underestimated.”

NSW Jewish deputies board spokesman, the Supreme Court’s decision to allow a march, said they accepted by disappointing.

“In a nervous social adaptation period, a Sözcü should not be used to bring a separatist foreign conflict to our iconic Australian symbol and key arterial road streets,” he said.

In the Sydney Harbor Tunnel, the Fringe Pro-Israeli group has never withdrawn on Friday morning.

NSW opposition leader Mark Speakman said he respected the freedom of protest, but allowed the bridge to be seized.
