Barmer Collectorate receives bomb threat, IAS Tina Dabi says, ‘This was a…’

Panic broke out in the Barmer border region of Rajasthan after a threat was received to bomb the Barmer Collector’s office. The threatening e-mail was sent to the official e-mail address of the Collectorate. Following the threat, Barmer Police and all security agencies evacuated the entire Collection complex and launched an investigation. However, no suspicious situation was found in the detailed examination carried out in the area.

Barmer District Collector IAS Tina Dabi said: “Barmer collection received a bomb threat around 9 am. Immediate action was taken and the collection premises were evacuated. A thorough check was carried out in the area and nothing suspicious was found. I believe it is a fake email and everything is under control.”
