The company told the suppliers that they are “trying to cleanse a payment accumulation” because it increases the capacity of billing processing.
The automobile manufacturer’s production lines have been suspended since a cyber attack company forced CT networks in August. The factories remain closed until the next month.
The Prime Minister said that the government, mostly small enterprises, worries for the long -term closure of operations for suppliers, “7/24 work” in a support package, he said.
Sir Keir Starmer said that the situation faced by the suppliers was “urgent”, but that no support plan has been completed yet.
“I am aware of the urgency of the situation and the difficulties that most of these companies have inevitably find themselves without their own mistakes.” He said.
Various ideas emerged about how the government could step into support JLR suppliers until car production was restarted.
In a statement on Thursday, the company said that the rescue program is “continuing firmly” and the spare parts that serve the vehicles of the customers and return to full operations “global parts of the logistics center.
“The financial system that we use to process the wholesale sales of vehicles has been brought back online and we can sell and save vehicles faster for our customers and provide significant cash flow.”
The car manufacturer said that the situation was “a difficult time for everyone linked to JLR”, that the new car was not built and that the staff was sent home from work.
The manufacturer of India’s Tata Motors is usually building about 1,000 cars a day in three factories in Solihull and Wolverhampton in West Midlands and in Merseyside.
The workers were told to stay at home since September 1, there is no solid return date.
Approximately 30,000 people are directly employed in the facilities of approximately 100,000 employees for companies in the supply chain. Some of these companies only supply parts to JLR, while others sell components to other automobile manufacturers.
Due to the overturning effect of the cyber attack, calls were made to support the suppliers who were threatened to work.
An idea discovered is the government that buys the component parts of the suppliers in order to keep companies at work in JLR’s supply chain until the production lines work again.
However, companies told BBC that they were skeptical about the success of such a plan.
A supplier, the government, “does not understand the complexity of what is dealing with,” he said.
“We don’t need words, we need help.”
The Prime Minister said that the business secretary Peter Kyle was working 24/7 with these enterprises and working to solve it and support them in this important period “.
Trade unions called for a Covid -style furlogh plan, but the sources told the BBC, considering the possible cost, the ministers excluded it.
Although the purchase and stocking of car parts by the government is an option at the table, this will offer significant logistics difficulties.
The production process of JLR is based on the right part that comes at the right place, at the right place.
Another option to be taken into consideration is government -supported loans to suppliers, but it is understood that this is not popular with suppliers.
