A Russian propagandist has launched a scathing tirade calling on Moscow to attack eight European countries and vowed to create “chaos” against any country that attacks Russia. Pro-Kremlin TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov issued a harsh threat to Ukraine and the West, saying in a lengthy speech that Russia should expand its attacks “not just against targets in Kiev”.
A close ally of Vladimir Putin, famous for his nightly incendiary rhetoric on state broadcaster Rossiya-1, has given precise details about when and where he believes Moscow should launch its attacks. He promises to “act extremely harshly and cruelly.”
He said the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, which was bombed by Russian forces last night, should be “wiped off the face of the earth”. A small part of Ukraine’s second largest city is under Russian occupation.
Solovyov said: “In my opinion, attacks should not be carried out only on targets in Kiev. Also, in my humble opinion, we should attack in daylight the centers of political decision-making, places where terrorists are deployed, those responsible for the killing of Russian people.
“That’s why I think we have to act extremely harshly and cruelly.
“To stop the attacks in Belgorod, we must give the residents of Kharkiv a few days to leave the city and wipe it off the face of the earth.”
Vladimir Solovyov questioned why Russia, as well as Ukraine, did not sink British, Scandinavian (Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish), German and French ships.
He then vowed to “wage war” and create “chaos” on countries that attacked Russia.
Solovyov said: “Why do the cables serve the interests of NATO countries? Why have they not been destroyed yet? What is in their way?”
“Why do the ships act in the interests of England, Scandinavia, Germany and France, and why do they not sink?”
“If we are going to have a war, let’s have a war. If you want chaos, you will have chaos. This is just a political decision, but we cannot let even a single strike go without retaliation.”
The propagandist appeared to be referring to Britain’s coordinated efforts with its European allies to intercept Russian stay-behind fleet ships.
In late March, Defense Secretary John Healey said the UK was now “ready to take action” to board and detain ships that are part of the so-called Russian stay-behind fleet if they enter British waters without permission.
