London (Reuters) -Giz Public Publisher in a statement on Monday, a 13 -year -old son of the Hamas official’s 13 -year -old son of a BBC documentary about the lives of children in Gaza.
However, the investigation found that the BBC did not have any other violations of editorial guides, including impartiality, and that there was no evidence that external interests were “inappropriate to the program”.
BBC, “Gaza: how to remove a war zone in life”, five days after the publication of the online platform in February, “serious flaws” removed. The documentary was made by the independent production company Hogyo Films.
A study found that the program had violated a guide on righteousness interested in misleading masses.
The background on the father of the narrator, who was a minister in the government operated by Hamas in Gaza, was “critical information” that was not shared with the BBC before the broadcast.
The Gaza Ministry of Health said that since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, the militants led by Hamas attacked Israel, killed about 1,200 people and more than 58,000 hostages in Gaza have been killed.
The scope of the BBC’s war was intensively examined during the conflict, both Israeli supporters and critics said that the publisher failed to achieve the right balance.
BBC Editorial Complaints and Investigations Director Peter Johnston said, “The audience must have been informed about this, regardless of the importance or other evaluation of the position of the narrator’s father’s position.”
BBC General Manager Tim Davie said the report has determined an important failure about accuracy.
Davie said in a statement, “Now we will take action on two fronts – fair, clear and appropriate actions to ensure that the steps are applied immediately to prevent the repetition of such errors and to repeat such errors.” He said.
