BCCI Bags Rs 270 Crore AI Sponsorship Deal For IPL

New Delhi : BCCI has signed a lucrative sponsorship deal worth Rs 270 billion from Google’s artificial intelligence platform Gemini ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). Gemini’s rival ChatGPT is one of the sponsors of the ongoing Women’s Premier League.
“The agreement is for three years and strengthens the global appeal of IPL,” a BCCI official told PTI.
Last year, when the Indian government banned real money gaming platforms like Dream11, the BCCI had to look for new jersey sponsors. Eventually Apollo Tires secured the rights of Rs 579 crore, replacing Dream11 as the jersey sponsor.
Tata Group has the naming sponsorship rights of the IPL, the world’s largest T20 league.
The latest sponsorship involving Gemini shows the growing interest of AI platforms in Indian cricket.
When ChatGPT’s partnership with WPL was announced in November, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia had talked about the importance of the partnership.
“From global leaders in AI, manufacturing and beverage to trusted Indian consumer brands, this mix of partnerships will play a critical role in shaping the fan experience and supporting the growth of women’s cricket,” he said.
IPL 2026 will be played from March 26 to May 31.
