Beatrice and Eugenie puzzled by exile as ‘they’ve done nothing wrong’ | Royal | News

The files detailed how Sarah took her daughters to the US to see the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, just five days after he was released from prison for child sex crimes. In 2009, Beatrice and Eugenie were 19 and 20 years old respectively.

There is no indication in the files that the sisters committed any crime.

A friend of Beatrice and Eugenie told Mail that despite their situation they still “have a great sense of public duty”.

They added: “They were always happy to engage at their grandmother’s request. [Queen Elizabeth II] or by other members of the family. “They don’t understand why they have to run away like criminals when they haven’t done anything wrong.”

Eugenie, 35, recently resigned from her role as boss of the British-based charity Anti-Slavery International.

According to The Observer, Eugenie’s profile has been removed from the charity’s website and her tenure with the organization has ended.

When Andrew and Sarah lost their titles last year, it was understood Beatrice and Eugenie’s royal status would not be affected.
