Harry and Meghan missed royal wedding after William and Kate’s move | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not attend the royal wedding over the weekend. Peter Phillips married NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in a private ceremony at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, on Saturday. Phillips is the nephew of King Charles and the son of the Crown Princess, Princess Anne. The couple’s private ceremony, attended by the King, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales, followed their engagement announcement in August 2025.
According to Hello!, the Duke of Sussex was not invited to the wedding, even though he had a close relationship with his cousin before. The publication reported that the two had been estranged in recent years after Harry moved to the United States.
A friend said to be close to the couple told the publication: “Peter and Harry haven’t spoken for a few years and have lost touch so he wasn’t invited.”
Meanwhile, the TalkTV presenter suggested: “Of course, luckily Harry and Meghan came or were invited and said they would attend, William and Catherine would not.”
“This is how bad a division is. The division between two brothers. We are just beginning to understand how painful this separation is.”
Kevin commented, “There was a tremendous turnout. The entire royal family. The King, the Queen, of course William, Kate. Also, significantly, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Andrew Mountbatten Windor’s children, arguably they were too.”
“Harry and Meghan’s absence was certainly notable.”
He claimed: “Harry tried to explain that he had decided to stay away from it. But he wasn’t invited. There’s nothing to say that Harry and Meghan are now more outcasts and exiled from royal circles than we saw over the weekend.”
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield revealed that sources said Harry was “hurt” after seeing his cousins laughing and joking together.
He noted: “He mentioned something similar at the end of the Netflix series, saying that sometimes he misses getting together with his family for the holidays.”
Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and now live in Montecito, California.
