Flight cancellations leave 30 Hyderabad tourists marooned in Leh

A group of 30 tourists from Haydarabad, including elderly citizens, was stranded in Ladakh due to flight cancellations caused by harsh weather conditions.

The group, who left Haydarabad on August 20, was planned to return on 27 August. However, their travel plans were broken and now they encountered a long accommodation until at least 31 August.

Polish Airport is reported to be crowded with those looking for a way out of both Indian and foreign tourists. The airport is closed for several days due to mud accumulation on the track and taxi roads, and the area is said to have unusual winter conditions.

“After one day at the hotel, we visited a few places on the roads to Pangong through Wari La Transition.

Although the group stays in relatively comfortable rooms about 2 km away from the Polish airport for the last few days, the strawberries are combined with irregular power supply, expensive oxygen cylinders and unreliable mobile and internet connection.

Srikanth, “Oxygen cylinders provided by our tour operator are exhausted and every new citizens have around 3,500 costs. Older citizens need them occasionally. Hotel personnel do their best to keep us comfortably with hot food, but in a few minutes, the cold can be used in the hotel because it can reduce oxygen levels.” He said.

When they returned to Leh during a snowstorm, the group fled a narrowly from a landslide. Ravikanth, another member of the group, said, “temperatures have fallen to two degrees Celsius and we are limited to the hotel – not only because of weather conditions, but also because of the variable political situation here,” he said.
