Tonight’s sightings come after drones were seen flying over the Belgian military base Kleine-Brogel for three consecutive nights until Monday, according to the country’s defense minister.

Theo Francken said an investigation was ongoing and described it as “a clear mission targeting Kleine Broge”.

The drones reportedly flew towards the Netherlands after a helicopter was deployed near the base on Monday, national broadcaster VRT reported.

Francken told Belgian radio on Monday that the incident appeared to be espionage, but avoided speculation about who was behind it.

“I have some ideas, but I’ll be careful,” he said.

Drones were also seen flying over other military air bases such as Leopoldsburg in the center of Limburg province and Marche-en-Famenne in the southeast of the country.
