Bengaluru-bound bus catches fire after bike collision near Kurnool; at least 15 killed

It is feared that at least 15 passengers will die as a result of the Kaveri travel bus departing from Hyderabad and heading to Bengaluru last night (October 24, 2025) was completely destroyed near Chinnatekuru village on the outskirts of Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district.
According to police sources, the fire broke out as a result of a two-wheeler hitting a bus in the early hours of Friday, October 24, 2025, at around 03:00.
The flames quickly engulfed the entire bus. 12 passengers managed to escape by breaking the windows. Speaking at the hospital, one of the escaped passengers said he helped four passengers escape, but some of his family members were trapped in the flames. There were approximately 42 passengers on the bus.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that he was deeply shocked by the accident. The CM expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. He instructed the state officials to coordinate with Andhra Pradesh authorities and take necessary relief measures.
He also spoke to State Chief Secretary K. Ramkrishna Rao and Director General of Police (DGP) B. Shivadhar Reddy regarding the accident and suggested setting up a helpline immediately. Gadwal District Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) have been instructed to visit the accident site.
