Benjamin Netanyahu’s jab at Australia came at critical moment, but will do little to help his cause

At this point, there are serious arguments against recognizing a Palestinian state. What would this look like? Borders are objected and invaded by war. Leadership is unknown. Hamas, a dominant fighting force in a large part of the region, is a terrorist group.
At least in the Western diplomacy of the existence of this state, Israel accepts the right to exist and does not threaten Israel’s security. This means that European leaders choose to know Palestine before making sure that they meet this situation.
The assumption is that Mahmud Abbas, the President of Palestinian Authority, can lead the Palestinian state. Many of them recently spoke to him, including Albanian on Wednesday.
The obvious challenge is that Abbas has the authority on the West Bank as the president of Fatah, the largest group in the Palestinian Liberation Organization, but cannot speak for others. Hamas won 44.45 percent of the votes in the 2006 elections, which seized Gaza’s control. And it is dedicated to the destruction of Israel.

Nations such as Britain, France and Canada have avoided recognizing a Palestinian state in the past, but the war is so terrible that this symbolic recognition is urgent and necessary. They use Netanyahu to apply pressure on a pure scale of pain. But as a roadmap to peace, this is just a draft.
Netanyahu has been supporting Western leaders for months for the savagery of his military strategy. Some chose not to take a solid attitude towards him in the previous stages of the war, but this has changed as full fear worse for months.
