European Central Bank chief to exit before term’s end

Christine Lagarde is expected to leave the European Central Bank before the end of her eight-year term as president, the Financial Times reported, citing a person familiar with her thoughts.
Reuters could not immediately confirm the report.
The ECB did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
The FT said Lagarde wants to exit the bank before the French presidential election in April 2027.
