The survey looked at organizations with at least 150 employees and evaluated what employees valued most based on pay and benefits, leadership, sense of purpose and recognition, according to a USA Today report. A total of 1,661 of the 2,375 companies that participated in the survey throughout 2025 were recognized for their prominence in these areas.

These names may sound familiar; four of these were in the top five in 2025 and were consistent performers in terms of employee experience.
Distribution of the Best Workplaces by Company Size
The rankings are part of the “USA TODAY Top Workplaces” awards, which categorize companies by size, from those with fewer than 499 employees to those with more than 2,500 employees. The top 100 employers in each category are ranked, and other winners are listed alphabetically.
What Makes a People First Workplace Stand Out?
According to Energage CEO Eric Rubino, being on the list reflects more than good business results. “Winning a Best Workplaces award is a celebration of excellence,” he said, adding, “It serves as a reminder of the vital role the human-first workplace experience plays in achieving success,” according to USA Today.
