Jaishankar holds talks with Jamaican counterpart, calls for stronger economic ties

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held wide-ranging talks with his Jamaican counterpart Kamina J. Smith and senior ministers, reviewing cross-sector bilateral cooperation and calling for stronger economic ties between the two countries.
Mr. Jaishankar, who arrived in Kingston on Saturday, May 2, 2026, is on the first leg of his nine-day tri-nation tour to Jamaica, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago to further strengthen India’s strategic and cultural ties with Caribbean countries.
