Senior Advocates not permitted to mention cases before CJI’s Court from August 11

As of Monday, August 10, 2025, the Indian Chief Justice Court will not be allowed to talk about emergency listing and trial cases in front of BR Gavai.

A notification given by the Supreme Court, “As it is directed, the senior consultants entered into force on Monday, August 11, 2025 in front of the Indian Chief Justice Court in front of the Court of Justice/p.” He said.

On August 6, the CJI said that no senior lawyer’s court would be allowed to talk about emergency listing and hearing cases in the court, so that young people had the opportunity to do this.

On May 14, CJI Gavai returned to the verbal mention of emergency listing and hearing cases by lawyers, and stopped the application adopted by his predecessor Justice Sanjiv Khanna.

Justice Khanna stopped the oral application application by lawyers to urgently listed and hearing the cases, and instead asked them to send E -mail or written letters.

CJI Gavai, on August 6, “There is a big demand that no matter should be mentioned by senior lawyers.” He said.

The court asked the personnel to inform any senior lawyer to inform the court that he would not be allowed to talk about emergency listing and hearing cases at the court.

“On Monday, no senior lawyer, that is, senior lawyer, will not be allowed to talk about the issues. Juniors have the opportunity to do this.” He said.

“This will at least be applied in the court, CJ CJI said, adopting the application is dependent on other Apex court judges, he added.

Generally, lawyers talk about their cases before the CJI -led bench at the beginning of the day for the trial of cases on the grounds of non -return lists and urgency.
