Biden undergoing cancer radiation therapy: spokesperson

According to NBC News, a spokesperson said that former US president Joe Biden received radiation treatment for prostate cancer, which was diagnosed in May.

“As part of his prostate cancer treatment plan, President Biden is currently receiving radiation therapy and hormone therapy,” the spokesperson said.

Biden, who will turn 83 next month, underwent a procedure known as Mohs surgery in September, in which cancerous cells from his skin were removed.

In May, the former Democratic chairman announced that he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer.

The disease is aggressive but hormone-sensitive, meaning it will likely respond to treatment, his team said.
