Big Diwali gift for this state govt employees as dearness allowance rises to 58%; details inside

The Valuation Allowance (DA) increase will be effective from 1 July 2025. 3 lakh state government employees and pensioners will benefit from the decision.

DA raise news: The Jharkhand government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren has increased the severance pay (DA) of its employees to 58 per cent before Diwali, officials said. It was stated that financial assistance (DR) for retirees was also increased by 3 percentage points to 58 percent. They added that previous employees and retirees received 55 percent DA and DR respectively. Officials said the DA increase will be effective from July 1. 3 lakh state government employees and pensioners will benefit from the decision. The decision was taken at the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

24 suggestions accepted

A total of 24 suggestions were accepted by the state cabinet. These included a proposal to purchase 207 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances to strengthen healthcare services in remote areas. A total of 103.5 million rupees will be spent for this purpose, officials said. The cabinet also approved Rs 78.50 billion for the purchase of 628 four-wheelers and 849 two-wheelers for the police.

The Center announced a 3% DA increase

Earlier this month, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved a 3 per cent increase in Merit Allowance (DA) for central government employees. The increase, which will come into effect on July 1, 2024, will also cover retirees and Dearness Relief (DR) will be increased at the same rate. Asset Assistance for retirees was also revised by 3 percent. With the raise, which will be valid from July, employees will be given their debts for July, August and September along with their revised payments.
