Big weather swing ahead for San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego is enjoying warm, almost summer-like weather before a big change arrives.
Temperatures will remain above normal throughout the middle of the week, especially in inland areas. Some areas may be up to 10 degrees above average; Inland valleys can reach the upper 70s and mid-80s, and deserts can warm into the 90s. It will stay a little cooler near the coast, with highs in the mid-60s to 70 degrees.
However, this warm weather will not last long.

Starting Thursday, things start to cool down as the storm system approaches. Clouds will increase into Friday night and rain chances will return to San Diego County.
The storm will continue through Saturday, bringing the possibility of scattered showers and even light thunderstorms. The weather will feel much colder, especially in the mountains, where temperatures can drop 10 to 15 degrees below normal.
Winds will also become stronger, especially in the mountains and deserts. Winds that could reach speeds of 35 to 45 miles per hour could make it even colder on Thursday and Friday.
There’s still a chance of a few showers, as well as gusty winds, continuing into Sunday before drier, warmer weather returns early next week.
Enjoy the warm weather now, because towards the end of the week you’ll probably need jackets and maybe even an umbrella.
